Laxatone Hairball Remedy: Tuna Flavor

Posted on 14 March 2017 in Hairball Remedy

In the past we had a beautiful male tuxedo cat named Arby. He had gorgeous long hair, which unfortunately made him prone to have hairballs. Laxatone-type products were helpful in keeping his problem under control. This is a tube of Laxatone with tuna flavoring made just for cats.

Laxatone works as a sort of lubricant to help cats pass ingested hair without creating hairballs. The gentle formula has been used for over 40 years with great success. We would simply apply a bit of the remedy to our finger and let Arby lick it right off. The tuna flavoring really helps and although we consider it to be medicine, Arby thought it was a treat!

If you've got a cat that is prone to have hairballs, give Laxatone a try for some relief.

Kitty Convict ID Collar for Indoor Cats

Posted on 28 February 2017 in Break-away Collars

This is the perfect ID collar for your indoor kitty. The Kitty Convict Project is designed to keep indoor kitties safe by identifying them with a recognizable collar in case of escape outdoors. Finders will know that your kitty doesn't belong outside!

This is a high-quality orange cat collar with a safety breakaway buckle. The orange collar is reflective and easy to see in different light conditions, to aid in searching in case kitty escapes. The orange collar is also meant to be a recognizable symbol of an indoor cat that has escaped -- the orange color of a convict.

There are two affordable options with the Kitty Convict ID collar. You can get an embroidered collar with custom text of your cat's name and your phone number. The other option is an unembroidered collar with custom text including your cat's name and your contact information on one side. The other side of the tag indicates that the wearer is a "Kitty Convict" that needs to be returned home.

This collar is a great extra protection for you and your indoor cat in case kitty ever escapes.

Cat Crib: Convert Your Chairs to Cat Beds!

Posted on 14 February 2017 in Cat Beds

How genuis is this product? It's an adjustable hammock-style bed for cats that can be attached under almost any four-legged chair.

This seems like the perfect cat accessory for dining room chairs. We have a nice dining room set with four chairs that would work great with this product -- especially since we like to try to keep our kitties off of the chairs themselves.

Use up wasted space and create a cozy nap place for kitty at the same time. It's a perfect addition to your cat's furniture options without adding any bulky pieces to your home -- the space is already there!

Prevent Cat Wire Chewing with Split Loom Tubing

Posted on 31 January 2017 in Repellants for Training

Alternative use product alert! One of our kitties (it's William) has a thing for chewing on wires. He especially likes Apple product wires and other similarly pliable round cables. They're his favorite thing and he's already chewed through several iPhone chargers and even our Amazon Echo wire! William is the reason we couldn't play Christmas music in our living room on Christmas day. We tried a few options and found this great solution: split loom tubing.

This is small 3/8" ribbed tubing designed for automotive or electronic use. The slit tubing can be used to group wires together and keep them in position. And we have found it works perfect to deter William from chewing on wires in our home.

The tubing is made of polyethylene (which is somehow less tasty than expensive Apple wires) and typically comes in black, as shown here. The tubing is thin and easy to cut to size. We added tubing around wires in our offices and by our television areas, taking the extra step to hold the tubing in place using electrical tape.  There are other tube-like protective products on the market, but what makes this stuff so great to work with is that it is split, so you don't even have to unplug your devices in order to protect your wires. It's easy peasy!

If you've got a cat that likes to chew on (or clean through, as in the case of our William!) wires, we recommend this split loom tubing as a preventative solution!

Avoid Mealtime Mess: Neater Feeder Bowls

Posted on 17 January 2017 in Food & Water Dishes

Do you have a cat that's a messy eater? This is a great feeding system with two bowls that will keep kibble, canned food, or water within the feeder base and off your floor.

Does your cat spill food when she's eating? Does water splash all over when kitty has a drink? This feeder stand has two shallow stainless steel bowls that accomodate cat-sized food and water portions and don't disturb kitty's whiskers. The feeder stand has high walls along three sides to prevent any spillage.

Kitty might not be the only one making a mess -- this feeder system is kick proof, so if you're prone to tap your cat's feeding area and spill water, your troubles are over. Any water that splashes out of the bowl is captured in a lower reservoir for easy clean up. Non-skid feet prevent movement if the system does get tapped or pushed by kitty.
